ISR-UC - Institute of Systems and Robotics - University of Coimbra
About the work
ISR-UC is a research and technological transfer institute associated with the University of Coimbra, which has participated and coordinated several European projects in the area of energy efficiency, decentralized generation and RES, both in buildings and industry. ISR-UC has also been giving support to regional and local energy authorities and to national energy agency ADENE. Recent work includes the coordination of four European projects on market transformation of electric motors and motor systems, local and regional energy planning, integrated resource planning in the electricity sector, distributed generation and space conditioning.Recent projects
ISR-UC has recently co-ordinated the Motors Study Group activities related to the project “Actions to promote energy efficient electric motors” and “Improving the Penetration of Energy Efficient Motors and Drives”, which aim was the field characterisation of motors electricity use and design of cost-effective DSM actions, and the identification of appropriate measures on the basis of a detailed analysis of motor applications in different sectors, including the tertiary sector.ISR-UC is currently involved in the El-Tertiary project: “Monitoring Electricity Consumption in the Tertiary Sector”, which overall objective is to promote electricity savings and a more efficient use of electricity in the Tertiary Sector. ISR-UC also participates in the REMODECE project to characterize electricity consumption in the residential sector.
ISR-UC has carried out a large number of training seminars, workshops and International Conferences (EEMODS-96, EEDAL-00, UIE 2000) to promote energy-efficient technologies, namely in the area of electricity end-use efficiency.
